School may be back in session, but our support for new teachers is just getting started. Today, over 30 first-year Beginning Teachers (BT1s) gathered at Central Services for their first orientation workshop as part of CCS’s New Directions Teacher Induction Program.
More than just an introduction, this workshop marks a key step in a powerful year of growth, reflection, and professional learning. The program is built around one mission:
👉 To build the capacity of new teachers to promote high achievement among students.
Through a continuous cycle of planning, teaching, and reflecting, our BT1s are being equipped with tools, mentorship, and the CCS community to succeed — elevating their professional development, not just this year, but throughout their careers.
💙 Here's to a strong start, empowered teaching, and a district that nurtures its educators from Day 1.

"Laura Lloyd is the picture of a warm demander! She knows her standards, knows her students, and knows the research! She is a lifelong learner and does everything in her ability through differentiation and scaffolding to have ALL her students rise to their grade level standards. Through responsive classroom techniques, knowledge, and gradual release methods, her students own their learning and thinking in all subjects and areas of her classroom instruction. Meg Moss, Director of Marketing and Member Engagement at Central Electric, recently presented a generous donation to support the purchase of Comfort Backpacks, a meaningful initiative led by The Confidence Project.
Local resident Mary Baldwin Morris and her daughter, Hannah Jane Lloyd (Executive Director & Co-founder of The Confidence Project), continue to make a difference in our community through their advocacy.
Thank you to all who are helping bring comfort and confidence to our students! 🎒
