Congratulations to our incredible Chatham County Schools educators, Dr. Jessica Allen and Ms. Lisa Kaufman from Chatham Grove Elementary, who were awarded a $1,000 grant through Couch Oil’s first Fueling Education Teacher Grant Program!

GMH and PES are currently experiencing a power outage. However, school is on as normal, including breakfast service. The utility service provider is working to restore service as soon as possible. Additionally, traffic signals are out, so please plan accordingly for drop off.

Congratulations to our November Power of One recipient, Mr. Mark Cipperley, one of our talented CCS mechanics! 🛠️

Mr. Cipperley was nominated by a Perry Harris Elementary School teacher who experienced a downed tree while driving a school bus. Mark immediately stepped in to help, demonstrating exceptional leadership, calmness, and compassion. His steady presence and quick response ensured that the driver and her students remained safe throughout the situation.

🎶 Who knew plastic straws could double as musical instruments?

Virginia Cross Elementary students got creative this week with visiting artist Luke Vandergriff, multi-instrumentalist, storyteller, and visual artist! 🎶 Using bottles, cans, and repurposed materials, Luke showed students how to turn everyday objects into homemade instruments. Thank you to the Chatham Arts Council for bringing this inspiring residency to life!

For the first time in Chatham Early College history (that’s 10 years!) all CEC teachers visited their students together at Central Carolina Community College! 🐙💜

Students were thrilled to see their teachers cheering them on, and the energy was electric!
