Voices That Matter: Students, Educators & Parents at the Table!
Today, Chatham County Schools brought together three powerful voices in education:
👩🎓 Student Advisory Committee
🍎 Educator Advisory Committee
👨👩👧 Parent Advisory Committee
These advisory groups met to share perspectives, exchange ideas, and strengthen collaboration across our schools and community. Each voice — whether student, educator, or parent — plays a vital role in shaping a learning environment where ALL students can thrive.
We are grateful for the time, input, and partnership of those who participated today. Together, we’re building bridges that connect classrooms, homes, and the community to support the success of ALL learners in Chatham County.

🎯 Why does attendance matter?
✅ Higher academic achievement
✅ Better graduation rates
✅ Stronger career readiness
✅ Improved mental health & self-esteem
But this isn’t just about statistics — it’s about creating school environments where every student feels safe, supported, and seen. 🧡
🏡 Families can help by building daily routines: early bedtimes, healthy breakfasts, and consistent wake-up times.
📣 Schools can send encouraging messages that celebrate attendance and emphasize connection.
🏙️ Communities and businesses can step up to help break down barriers and show students they matter — every day.
Together, we can reduce absenteeism, boost engagement, and build a brighter future for ALL Chatham County youth. 💪🌟

School may be back in session, but our support for new teachers is just getting started. Today, over 30 first-year Beginning Teachers (BT1s) gathered at Central Services for their first orientation workshop as part of CCS’s New Directions Teacher Induction Program.
More than just an introduction, this workshop marks a key step in a powerful year of growth, reflection, and professional learning. The program is built around one mission:
👉 To build the capacity of new teachers to promote high achievement among students.
Through a continuous cycle of planning, teaching, and reflecting, our BT1s are being equipped with tools, mentorship, and the CCS community to succeed — elevating their professional development, not just this year, but throughout their careers.
💙 Here's to a strong start, empowered teaching, and a district that nurtures its educators from Day 1.
