Learning Beyond the Classroom!

Last week, CCS 9th grade Dual Language students visited UNC-Chapel Hill for a special campus tour - conducted entirely in Spanish!

This immersive experience gave students the opportunity to explore college life while strengthening their language skills in a real-world setting. We’re proud of their curiosity, confidence, and commitment to becoming globally prepared learners!

Congratulations to our March Champion of Character recipient for the word Integrity, Luciana Beasley, Siler City Elementary! Her nominator said:

"Luciana is a student who shows integrity in all she does. She consistently does the right thing. She is on task, eager to learn, and models this for other students. She can be trusted to do what she is supposed to do in every situation (in the classroom, as a violin student, in the car rider line, in the hallway, cafeteria...everywhere!). Luciana is outstanding. I'm proud of her, and she is very deserving of recognition." #OneChatham #ElevateChatham

🎶 Chatham Central High School's Band has earned a Superior rating at the North Carolina Music Performance Adjudication (MPA)! Even more impressive, all four sub-ratings were 1s, the top score awarded in NC MPA.

This marks the first time in over 20 years that CCHS has participated in MPA, and may have received the first Superior rating in school history!

This incredible achievement reflects the hard work and dedication of 15 student musicians, along with the unwavering support of Dr. Wills, staff, and community members. Despite challenges along the way, their commitment to excellence and shared vision led them to this outstanding accomplishment. #OneChatham #ElevateChatham

💸 What does it cost to live alone? Thanks to Coastal Credit Union, 7th-grade students at Bonlee and Bennett took part in the Banking Reality series, an interactive financial literacy experience.

Thanks to this educational initiative, students were given a mock monthly income and had to navigate real-life expenses such as rent, utilities, groceries, and transportation while staying within budget. Along the way, they learned how quickly costs add up and the importance of planning, saving, and making informed financial choices.

Experiences like this help prepare our students for life beyond the classroom! #OneChatham
