Chatham County Schools Earns Three Statewide Blue Ribbon Awards for Excellence in Communications
PITTSBORO, N.C. — Chatham County Schools (CCS) has received three Blue Ribbon Awards from the North Carolina School Public Relations Association (NCSPRA), recognizing outstanding achievement in school communications and public relations.
NCSPRA presented the awards during its annual Blue Ribbon Awards ceremony on Friday, March 6, 2026, held at the Guilford County Schools Community Education Center in Greensboro. The awards program honors school districts across North Carolina for exceptional work in communications, marketing, and community engagement.
Chatham County Schools received the following honors:
Gold Award – Strategic Communications: “The Other Side of School Safety – Reunification in Action”
Silver Award – Photography: “AVID in Focus: A Portrait of College Readiness”
Silver Award – Digital Media Engagement: “Graduation Ready: Amazing Tips and Stats for the Class of 2025”
The Blue Ribbon Awards represent the highest honor presented by NCSPRA and recognize excellence in eight categories, including strategic communications, digital media engagement, electronic media, writing, publications, image and graphic design, photography, and special events and programs.
This year, NCSPRA presented Blue Ribbon Awards to 35 school districts across the state, recognizing high-quality communication efforts that support students, staff, and public education.
The recognition highlights the continued efforts of the Chatham County Schools Public Relations team to keep families, staff, and the community informed, engaged, and connected to the district’s work.
“This recognition reflects the dedication and creativity of our Public Relations team and their commitment to keeping our families, staff, and the community informed, engaged, and connected to the district’s work.” said Chatham County Schools Superintendent Dr. Anthony D. Jackson. “Effective communication is essential to building trust and strong partnerships with our community. We are proud of the innovative work being done to highlight the great things happening in our schools.”
The Georgia School Public Relations Association served as judges for the 2025 Blue Ribbon entries and praised North Carolina school communicators for producing work that is “a model of excellent communication” and “an exceptional showcase of the incredible work that students and districts are doing.”
NCSPRA is a statewide professional organization that supports school communicators and promotes effective communication in public education. The organization serves more than 190 members across North Carolina.
