Dr. Anthony D. Jackson has announced his retirement as Superintendent of Chatham County Schools (CCS), effective July 1, 2026, following 39 years of service in public education.
Since 2021, his leadership has expanded opportunities for students through academics, arts, and athletics — ensuring ALL students are prepared for success in college, careers, and life. His impact will be felt for years to come.
We are incredibly grateful for his service and leadership, and thank him for helping shape the future of our schools and community.
Dr. Jackson will continue to lead CCS through the end of the school year and support a smooth transition.

We are so grateful for the heart, dedication, and care our social workers bring to our school each day. Their work behind the scenes and alongside our students makes a meaningful and lasting impact.
Thank you for all you do to support our community!

No leprechauns spotted… just amazing students and staff! 🍀
Wishing our #ONEChatham community a fun, safe, and spirited St. Patrick’s Day filled with a little luck and a lot of smiles. 🍀

Chatham County Schools will be CLOSED for students and staff on Monday, March 16, 2026. There will be no remote learning on Monday. All CCS school buildings/campuses are closed, and all after school events, activities, and athletics are also canceled.
This closure is due to impending severe weather and the anticipated resulting road conditions across the county.
As always, the safety of our students, staff, and families is our top priority. Please stay safe and dry!

During the tour, County Commissioners and Board of Education member visited seven of the district’s oldest school buildings and heard directly from school principals about their daily routines, the unique challenges of older facilities, and the creative ways staff maximize every inch of space to support student learning.
We appreciate our principals for sharing their experiences and leadership, and we thank the County Commissioners for taking the time to see our schools firsthand and learn more about the environments where our students learn and grow each day.

""Mrs. Brower is truly exceptional. She teaches our AVID cohort while also leading the AIG program and coordinating schoolwide testing, all with remarkable organization and care. She is incredibly helpful, deeply dedicated to student success, and a strong advocate who consistently goes above and beyond for both staff and students. Mrs. Brower greets everyone with a warm smile and a willingness to help, creating a positive and supportive environment throughout our school.
We are incredibly fortunate to have had Mrs. Brower as part of the Chatham Middle School community for the past nine years, and we look forward to her continued leadership in strengthening CMS culture and advancing schoolwide academics in the 2025–2026 school year." #OneChatham #ElevateChatham #CMSRamily
