"Tolbert Matthews joined Seaforth HS as a teacher and football coach in July. In just a few short months, he transformed the entire football culture at Seaforth and achieved many “firsts” rewriting history along the way. The same kids, the same talent; the only change was him. Watching this transformation has been nothing short of amazing. He believed in these boys when no one else did, including themselves. He taught them the real meaning of teamwork, respect, and community. He took what was left of our ashes and created something beautiful. We are forever grateful for his dedication to our program."

Chatham County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay on Tuesday, December 9th, for students and staff.
Although Chatham County remains outside of the Winter Weather Advisory issued by the National Weather Service, a slight chance of Black Ice in the morning still exists for our area. This delay should give our road conditions an opportunity to improve once the sun comes up, and will give school bus and student drivers improved visibility to help avoid any lingering issues.
We will continue monitoring this situation overnight, in conjunction with Chatham County Emergency Management, and will send out any needed adjustments early tomorrow morning.
As always, our priority is the safety of our students, families, and staff.

Chatham County Schools will be closed for students and staff tomorrow, Monday, December 8, 2025.
Reason: Potential inclement winter weather. While current forecasts suggest we can safely get students to school tomorrow morning, the unpredictable nature of the forecast raises concerns about conditions at mid-day and at the end of the day that could impact safe student transportation home.
Therefore, Chatham County Schools will be closed for students and staff, and all after school activities are cancelled. As always, our priority is the safety of our students, families and staff. Please monitor district communications for any updates or changes.
