📖 Cozy up with a good book (or a few!) over winter break and complete the Winter Reading Challenge!

Every student received a Winter Reading Challenge log to track the book(s) and minutes they read over winter break. Return the log between January 5th and 9th. The class in each grade level with the most minutes read during winter break will get a popcorn party. The 3 readers with the most minutes read in each grade level will win a book!

Don't forget, students have access to lots of ebooks through Sora and can use their CCS ID number to check out books from Chatham County public libraries.

We are so excited to celebrate Arizona, Ra'Shaun, and Kerlon for their participation and placement in the 2025 North Carolina School Boards Association
(NCSBA) poster contest. Arizona placed 1st in her age group (3rd-5th), Ra'Shaun placed 3rd in his age group (K-2), and Kerlon earned an honorable mention in his group (K-2).

Huge shout out to Ms. Chevez for her consistent encouragement of our young artists at VCE! Thank you to the CCS School Board for recognizing our Cubs at their December meeting 🧡

Mark your calendars and come out to help the VCE PTA do light cleaning and organizing at the PTA Thrift Shop in Chatham Square. Volunteers earn money for our school which goes toward field trips, student activities, classroom supplies, clubs, teacher appreciation, and more!

On Thursday, December 11, students can wear pajamas to school! Donate $1 to the PTA and receive a prize.

All pajamas should be school appropriate.
