Today, we’re celebrating Kenny Andino Jimenez, a senior at Jordan-Matthews High School! This fall, Kenny will attend Elon University, where he plans to major in Public Health Professions and Pre-Med with a minor in Spanish. His academic excellence and leadership earned him scholarship offers from numerous colleges and universities, including the prestigious Odyssey Scholarship through Elon University's Elon Commitment program. 🌟
Throughout his time at Jordan-Matthews, Kenny has been a dedicated leader and advocate for student success. He served as JM HOSA Chapter President during the 2025–2026 school year and Chapter Reporter the year prior. His accomplishments include earning 1st Place in Nutrition at HOSA Regionals, being named CTE Student of the Year, receiving Outstanding Student in Nursing Fundamentals honors, earning four health science certifications, and receiving multiple leadership awards.
Beyond the classroom, Kenny has been actively involved in AVID, the Dual Language Program, Orgullo Latinx Pride, Beta Club, Student Council, Link Crew, and Career & Technical Education programs.

Today, we’re celebrating Zury Marroquin Mendoza, a senior at Seaforth High School! This fall, Zury will attend Meredith College as she takes the next step toward her future. Along the way, she was named a finalist for both the Dell Scholarship and the Odyssey Scholarship and earned an impressive $46,500 in scholarships and grants. 🌟
During her time at Seaforth, Zury has demonstrated dedication both academically and through her involvement in school activities. She successfully exited the ESL program in 11th grade, earned an Award for Excellence in Dance, and was recognized as a Toastmaster.
Beyond the classroom, Zury has been actively involved in the Spanish Honor Society, Dual Language Club, Orgullo Latinx Pride Program, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), and La Voz Latina.

Today, we’re celebrating Neah Henry, a senior at Northwood High School! After graduation, Neah plans to attend a community college to study Exercise Science with a focus on Sports Medicine while continuing her athletic journey. 🏀
A standout student-athlete, Neah has earned numerous honors, including the Cum Laude Academic Award, Female Athlete of the Year, the Tony Keck ALL IN Belt Award, and Mid-Carolina 1st Team All-Conference recognition. As a four-year varsity basketball player and team captain, she helped lead Northwood to the Regional Finals. 👏
Beyond athletics, Neah has excelled in the classroom as an A/B Honor Roll student, a two-time AVID Student of the Month, and a member of the National English Honor Society. She has also been involved in AVID, volleyball, track, Black Student Union, Key Club, and Unified Club.

Today, we’re celebrating Saniya White, a senior at Jordan-Matthews High School! After graduation, Saniya plans to attend Sandhills Community College, where she will pursue a degree in Radiology. 👏
A standout both in the classroom and in athletics, Saniya has earned Magna Cum Laude honors, obtained her CNA certification and National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC), and received numerous athletic recognitions, including Defensive Player of the Year in Basketball, All-Conference honors, Conference Champion in Track, and the Coaches Award in Track. Today, we’re celebrating Norah Myer, a senior at Northwood High School! This fall, Norah will attend Appalachian State University, where she plans to pursue a degree in Elementary Education through the ACES program. Along the way, she earned several scholarships, including the App State Excellence Award, Merit Scholarship at Salem College, Greensboro College Scholarship, and Interdisciplinary Arts Education Scholarship. 🌟
Norah has made her mark both in the classroom and on the stage, earning three English Honor Awards, the Best Actor Award, A-B Honor Roll recognition, the Breakout Voice of Beginning Vocals Award, and the Senior Theatre Arts Award.
A passionate performer and leader, Norah has participated in every Northwood theater production since her freshman year, served as Drama Club Historian, and was Co-Team Captain of the Improv Team during her senior year. She has also been involved in Freshman Mentors and the National English Honor Society.

Today, we’re celebrating Maria Zuniga Medina, a senior at Seaforth High School! This fall, Maria will attend Wingate University, where she will continue pursuing her academic goals. Her hard work and dedication have also earned her the prestigious Golden Door Scholarship, providing a full ride to support her college journey. 👏
Throughout her time at Seaforth, Maria has excelled academically while embracing opportunities to lead and serve others. As a Dual Language graduate, she earned multiple Certificates of Achievement for her outstanding performance in the Dual Language and Multilingual Learning (ESL) programs. She was also recognized with the President’s Volunteer Service Award and earned her ESL Exit Certificate during her senior year.
Beyond the classroom, Maria has been deeply involved in school organizations and leadership opportunities. She has served as PTA Liaison for Key Club, School Liaison for Orgullo Latinx Pride, and President of the Spanish Honor Society.
