The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation College Scholarship Program application is now open on the Common App. The deadline to apply is November 12, 2025.

Selected Cooke Scholars will:

Receive scholarship funding toward college attendance costs so they may graduate with as little debt as possible.

Access comprehensive advising about how to maximize their college experience.

Be eligible for internships, study abroad, and to apply for the Cooke Graduate Scholarship.

Eligible applicants must meet the following requirements:

Senior standing – Complete four years of high school in the U.S., a U.S territory, or on a U.S. military base and plan to graduate in spring 2026.
Fall College Enrollment – Intend to enroll in an accredited four-year college beginning in fall 2026.

GPA – Earn a minimum, cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.75 or above.
Test Scores - Submit a standardized test score or scores from one of the following: SAT, ACT, AP, or IB exam. There is no minimum score requirement to apply, however, applicants must have taken one (or more) of these tests and submit the score.

Demonstrate Unmet Financial Need – We will consider applicants with a maximum annual gross income of $95,000. Last year’s cohort of new College Scholarship recipients had a median family income of approximately $34,000. During the selection process, the Foundation will conduct a full financial review which will take into account all income and assets of the student and the student’s parents.

Need to request a schedule change? Scan the QR Code or click the link to request a change. The form will only be open from the 13th through the 15th. It will be reopened September 2 and 3rd. All CCCC schedule changes must be made by Friday, August 15th. For a JM course schedule change request, students must complete the JM Schedule Change Request online form. Starting the week of August 18th, the JM Student Services team will work on schedule change requests in the order that they were submitted. Welcome to JM, Mr. Lutterloh! Adam Lutterloh has been named principal of Jordan-Matthews and will begin his new position on July 1st. "I am thrilled to be part of the Jets community. Our school has a rich legacy of excellence, and I am honored to join the students, educators, parents, graduates, and other stakeholders of Jordan-Matthews High School. I am grateful to Dr. Jackson and the Chatham County Board of Education for giving me this opportunity, and I look forward to working together to achieve great things for our Jets.” Dr. Burko will be transitioning to the position of principal at Chatham Early College. Congratulations to our May Champions of Character Recipient, Giancarlo Nolasco Ixtabalan from Jordan-Matthews High, for the character word Citizenship and Service to the Community. His nominator said: "Giancarlo Nolasco embodies the core of Citizenship & Service through his unwavering commitment to his community and his proactive approach to tackling critical issues in public education and social justice. Over the past month, Giancarlo has shown exceptional responsibility in several impactful ways. He passionately advocated at the Every Child NC rally, taking the initiative to be the sole student voice, fighting for better funding for our school system and opposing harmful legislation. His stirring speech earned him the only standing ovation of the day, underscoring the power of his advocacy. Giancarlo's efforts were widely recognized, as he was featured in over 10 news outlets and interviewed by more than 5 of them on the same day, amplifying his important message.
