To our students, families, staff, and Chatham County community partners,

Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year in Chatham County Schools!

This year’s theme—Elevate Chatham—is both a celebration and a charge. Together, we will lift our students, one another, and our community by focusing on what matters most: excellent instruction, safe and supportive schools, strong partnerships, and opportunities that prepare every learner for a bright and prosperous future. That’s the promise of ONE CHATHAM… for ALL students.

Points of Pride

·         Rising Results: In the most recent accountability cycle, all schools met or exceeded growth, with a strong majority exceeding growth. Our graduation rate remains above 90%, reflecting the perseverance of our students and the dedication of our educators.

·         Excellence Recognized: Chatham County Schools earned a Best Communities for Music Education designation, and our district’s Cognia IEQ score (383) affirms our culture of continuous improvement.

·         Arts, AVID, & Opportunities: We continue expanding AVID across middle and high schools and growing access to the Fine Arts—including dance, theatre, and strings—so more students discover their passions and talents.

·         Safe, Supportive Schools: We have strengthened SEL supports (counseling services, restorative practices, updated code of civility, and early-warning systems) and enhanced tools that help educators keep classrooms focused on teaching and learning.

·         Community at the Center: Our partnerships with families, local organizations, higher education, and business leaders are widening opportunities—from internships and dual-enrollment pathways to enrichment and wellness programs.

Our Focus This Year

·         Instructional Excellence: Coaching and support for principals and teachers, aligned to rigorous standards, data-informed practice, and high expectations for every learner.

·         Student Well-Being & Safety: Clear expectations, consistent routines, and supportive interventions that help students thrive.

·         Great People, Great Places to Work: Recruitment, development, and recognition of outstanding educators and staff, because people make the difference.

·         Smart Stewardship: Thoughtful use of resources to prioritize classrooms and sustain programs that work for students.

One Community, One Voice:Transparent communication, active family engagement, and partnerships that elevate every school.

These are exciting times in Chatham County. As our community grows, so do our opportunities—and our responsibility to ensure every student is known, supported, and challenged. I invite you to collaborate with us: attend school events, join advisory groups, volunteer, and share your ideas. Your voice and your support help us move further, faster—together.

Thank you for your unwavering commitment to our students and schools. Let’s make this our best year yet.

Honored to serve,

Dr. Anthony D. Jackson
Superintendent, Chatham County Schools
