First graders are becoming RESEARCHERS! First grade is diving to their new EL module about birds. Students have began to closely observe live footage of birds, photographs of different types of birds all the while discovering their physical features and their habits. #onechatham #dragonsonfire #ElevateChatham

Proud EL moment!! Fifth grade students worked hard creating one narrative on their own and then a second with a partner. Using Book Creator they created a book with their two individual stories and the story they wrote together. Kindergarten learned all about the weather and becoming meteorologists in their second EL module. They learned about the 4 components of weather, observed the clouds, and even discovered that the weather can be different on the same exact day depending on where you live in the world! Students finished their unit by presenting a weather story that they wrote where they got to choose their type of weather and draw the appropriate clothes on their character as they went on their adventure in the story! #onechatham #dragonsonfire #ElevateChatham

Third grade students have been studying frogs in Module 2 of EL. They learned about frogs from all around the world and explored the special adaptations that help them survive in their environments. To showcase our learning, students created a Freaky Frog book filled with pieces they wrote throughout the module. Each book includes a pourquoi tale, two informational paragraphs, a four-paragraph research paper on a frog they became an expert in, and a trading card highlighting key facts about their frog. Friday they were able to celebrate their hard work with family and staff members! #onechatham #dragonsonfire #ElevateChatham
