Chatham County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay on Tuesday, December 9th, for students and staff. Although Chatham County remains outside of the Winter Weather Advisory issued by the National Weather Service, a slight chance of Black Ice in the morning still exists for our area. This delay should give our road conditions an opportunity to improve once the sun comes up, and will give school bus and student drivers improved visibility to help avoid any lingering issues. We will continue monitoring this situation overnight, in conjunction with Chatham County Emergency Management, and will send out any needed adjustments early tomorrow morning. As always, our priority is the safety of our students, families, and staff. Please monitor district communications for any updates or changes.
