The Furry Friends, Cozy Covers project, funded by the Chatham Education Foundation, has been a resounding success! On February 5, 2025, students from Bonlee and Chatham Central High School Extended Content Standard Classes delivered 40 handmade fleece blankets to the Chatham County Animal Shelter. This community-based project gave students a hands-on opportunity to develop essential skills while making a difference in the lives of local animals. The students’ love for animals fueled their dedication and pride in creating the blankets. The visit to the shelter was a highlight of the project, offering students a chance to see the impact of their work firsthand. Through this collaboration, students not only engaged in meaningful service but also strengthened their confidence, teamwork, and transition skills—key elements in preparing for future opportunities. We are incredibly proud of their efforts and look forward to building on the success of Furry Friends, Cozy Covers in the future! #onechatham #dragonsonfire #CCSSHINE
