8th Grade Panthers completed a fictional interview of a Holocaust Upstander for their EL Module 3 performance task. They also drew 6 graphic panels to "explode" a moment in their journey 🐾

Our 7th grade Panthers had a great time participating in the Banking Reality series with Coastal Credit Union! 🐾 Students were given a mock income and worked through real-life expenses like rent, groceries, and bills—learning just how important budgeting and smart financial choices are. Experiences like this help prepare our students for life beyond the classroom!

Save the Date! 🎶

8th Grade digging for fossils this week. Shells, shark's teeth, and bones of small animals. OH MY!!! 🐾
Last week was National School Social Worker Week! We are so thankful for our amazing school social worker, Ashley McNiel, and the care and support she provides to our students, families, and staff each day. Bennett School is lucky to have you! 🐾

Today our 4th/5th students had the privilege of hearing Ms. Boone share her firsthand experiences growing up in segregated schools and later witnessing the transition to integration. Hearing history through her story made the past feel real and meaningful.
Ms. Boone connected the past to our students’ present by sharing stories of students from her former school who later became professional athletes—reminding our kids that big dreams can start anywhere.
She also reflected on changes she witnessed during her early years of teaching, including moments like prayer being removed from schools. To close, Ms. Boone shared two inspirational poems by Langston Hughes and Ellen Hopkins.
Ms. Boone’s refined yet down-to-earth, kid-friendly spirit made such an impact. We are so grateful she shared her story with our students today. 🐾

Big things happening in 1st grade EL this week! Students learned how to crack sunflower seeds like a bird, and how to scoop fish like a bird! 🐾🐤

Our Kindergarten class has become an ant colony! 🐜

Congratulations to Ms. M, our Bennett School Teacher of the Year! 🐾

We loved celebrating and showering Mrs. Suits with lots of love today as she prepares to welcome her sweet baby boy! 🐾🍼

Celebrating the 100th day of school in Beck's Bunch with some 100 year old 1st graders! 🐾

Our kindergarteners had an amazing time celebrating the 100th day of school with engaging 100 Day Centers! 🎉
They practiced counting all the way to 100, created collections of 100 items, and put their creativity to work by writing about their goals in “Before I’m 100, I will…”
