Pittsboro, N.C. — Chatham County Schools has been informed that a current staff member at ONE Academy has been arrested as part of an investigation being led by the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI).
In accordance with Board policy, the employee was initially placed on mandatory leave without pay, and has subsequently resigned effective immediately.
Based on the information currently provided by the SBI, the charges do not involve any students from Chatham County Schools.
We are deeply concerned by this development. The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our highest priority. We are fully cooperating with law enforcement in their investigation.
Since this is an active investigation and personnel matter, we are limited in what information we can share at this time. We appreciate the community’s understanding as we allow the investigative process to move forward.
