It is with profound saddness that we share the passing of Summer Soria Mora, a sophomore at Jordan-Matthews High School, who passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.
Summer was a kind, vibrant student known for her gentle spirit and love for music. She played the alto saxophone in the school band and All-County Band and brought warmth and light to her school community. She will be deeply missed.
The Superintendent, Board of Education, and staff of Chatham County Schools extend their deepest condolences to Summer’s family, friends, and the entire Jordan-Matthews community during this difficult time.
