Two Chatham Grove Elementary Educators Awarded Fueling Education Grants from Couch Oil Cares

Chatham County, N.C. – Chatham Grove Elementary School is proud to announce that two of its educators, Dr. Jessica Allen and Ms. Lisa Kaufman, have been selected as recipients of the inaugural Couch Oil Cares Fueling Education Teacher Grant. The grants will support innovative classroom projects that enhance learning and student engagement.

Dr. Allen, a 5th grade teacher, received funding to purchase hands-on math materials for all fifth-grade students at Chatham Grove. These materials will provide tactile learning opportunities and help students deepen their understanding of key math concepts through active, student-centered learning.

Ms. Kaufman, who is an Exceptional Children’s teacher, was awarded a grant to acquire new adaptive PE equipment designed to meet the needs of students with diverse physical abilities. The new equipment will promote inclusivity and support the physical development and confidence of all learners.

“We are thrilled to see the creativity and dedication of our educators recognized through this grant,” said Chatham Grove Principal, Dr. Janice Giles. “Both Dr. Allen and Ms. Kaufman consistently go above and beyond to make learning accessible, engaging, and meaningful for their students.”

The Fueling Education Teacher Grant is a new initiative from Couch Oil Cares, designed to recognize and support educators who are making a tangible impact in their classrooms. The award includes a financial grant, a visit from the Couch Oil Cares team for a celebratory check presentation, and features on the organization's social media channels.
