PITTSBORO, N.C. — Chatham County Schools (CCS) proudly hosted its 4th Annual Celebration of Success for Multilingual Learners on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the Family Life Center of Pittsboro United Methodist Church. The district honored 148 students who successfully exited the English Language Acquisition program during the 2025 school year, marking a significant milestone in their educational journey.

This annual event celebrates students who have demonstrated mastery of the English language and are now equipped to fully participate in academic instruction without additional language support. Now in its fourth year, the celebration reflects CCS’s ongoing commitment to honoring the hard work and accomplishments of its multilingual learners (MLs).

“This celebration is a testament to the resilience and dedication of our multilingual learners, their families, and our educators,” said Carrie Little, Executive Director of Federal Programs for Chatham County Schools. “Each student honored today has reached an important milestone, and we are incredibly proud of their progress.”

Dr. Anthony D. Jackson, Superintendent of Chatham County Schools, also expressed his admiration:

"Today’s recognition is more than a celebration of language acquisition, it’s a celebration of perseverance, courage, and the bright future that lies ahead for each of these students. Our multilingual learners are a vital part of our school community, and their success enriches us all."

Surrounded by teachers, administrators, families, and community members, students were recognized for their achievement in mastering English and transitioning confidently into the next phase of their academic careers. The morning featured uplifting remarks, student recognitions, and expressions of pride that showcased the value of inclusive education and cultural diversity.
