CCS hires Lessley Saenz-Mader as Director of Exceptional Children and AIG Programs
Chatham County Schools is pleased to announce Ms. Lessley Saenz-Mader as Director of Exceptional Children and AIG Programs. Saenz-Mader has over 20 years of experience in education. An extensive background includes serving in various roles such as special education teacher, program facilitator, director, and executive director within North Carolina public schools.
Originally from Virginia, Saenz-Mader began her career in education as a lateral entry special education teacher after earning an undergraduate degree in Sociology from Longwood University, a Master’s degree in Special Education and School Administration from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and currently is pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership at High Point University.
Dr. Amanda Moran, the Assistant Superintendent for Academic Services, shared, “Saenz-Mader impressed the interview team, which included EC staff, school leaders, district leaders, and an EC parent. Her expertise in Exceptional Children’s programming across multiple roles and districts will be a perfect match for the Academic Services Team.”
Saenz-Mader expressed enthusiasm for joining the district, stating, "I’m truly excited to join the Chatham County Schools team and am deeply committed to continuing the important work of creating inclusive opportunities where all students can succeed."
“We are fortunate to have Saenz-Mader joining our team,” Superintendent Dr. Anthony Jackson said. “Her impressive experience and talents ensure that we can continue to provide quality programming for our exceptional children and academically gifted students.”
Saenz-Mader will begin the work in Chatham on June 11th.
