If you are interested in state education issues, advocating on behalf of your peers and serving as an advisor to decision-makers in K-12 education, this council is for you! As a member of the Student Advisory Council, you will meet virtually each month and serve a two-year term that concludes at the end of your senior year.

Dear Chatham County Families, We want to inform you about a current phone and internet outage affecting the western half of Chatham County, impacting several schools, including: - Bennett School - Bonlee School - Chatham Middle School - JS Waters School - One Academy - Siler City Elementary School - Silk Hope School - Virginia Cross Elementary School The service provider is actively working to restore connectivity and anticipates resolution by tomorrow morning. If service is restored, students will proceed with the North Carolina End-of-Grade (EOG) Reading Assessment as scheduled. In the event that service is not restored by tomorrow morning, the following adjusted testing schedule will apply: - Wednesday, May 28: Grades 3–8 Reading EOG - Thursday, May 29: Grades 3–8 Math EOG - Friday, May 30: Grades 5 and 8 Science EOG We appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we collaborate with our service provider to restore internet access. Please ensure your child has a restful night's sleep, reflects on the year's learning, and is prepared for a successful EOG experience tomorrow. ONE Academy and Chatham County Schools Virtual Academy are accepting applications for enrollment into the 2024-2025 Spring Semester. Spring classes are scheduled to begin January 23rd, 2025 Applications must be submitted by November 22nd, 2024. ONE Academy provides a dynamic learning environment that is tailored to the needs of the scholar. Instruction is offered through the North Carolina Public School, APEX, or in-person. Chatham County Schools Virtual Academy offers a fully virtual instructional option for students. Instruction will be provided through North Carolina Virtual Public School. Great evening ONE Academy and CCSVA families! The new 9 weeks begins Tuesday. On Friday, we had some impactful conversations with scholars about their progress so far and how to best plan for successful outcome once the semester ends in January. If your high school scholar is enrolled in NCVPS courses this semester, and/or APEX courses with a start date before Nov. 6 then these courses must be completed prior to January 17th, 2025. Teacher Workday - All Chatham County schools will be closed tomorrow, October 28th - no school for students. Mid-Year Progress Meetings - Supporting adults: be sure to sign up for a meeting time to discuss your scholar's progress, classes for next semester, and a success plan to prepare them for high school or graduation. Select this LINK to sign up for a time. AVID Field Trip to UNC Chapel Hill - All permission forms, wether paper or electronic, must be turned in by 8:30am on October 29th. Please disregard the original submission date. Here is the ELECTRONIC permission form and the PAPER permission form. January Graduates - The $45 senior fee is due by November 4th. Cash, money order, and credit card accepted. Cap and gown pictures will take place on November 4th from 9am-1pm. Fill out this FORM. Please be sure to come and get your picture made to help commemorate your accomplishment! Supporting Adults - mark your calendars to attend an important information session for parents, on Emergency Management on November 6th from 5:30pm-6:30pm. This informative session provides guidelines and protocols each parent should follow in case of an emergency situation at our school. Our goal is to communicate procedures that will keep students, staff, and parents safe. Please make plans to attend. Lastly, ONE Academy is growing! The application process will reopen on November 1st! Please inform those in the community that the application process will reopen on November 1st for new scholar enrollment.
