We’re excited to share information about Charge Up!, a summer enrichment program designed to help rising 9th graders and new students transition smoothly into life at Northwood High School. The program runs August 10–13 and includes fun, engaging activities led by NHS staff and student leaders. Click here to enroll.
Northwood High School is happy to announce we are offering an enrichment program session for rising Freshmen this summer. Charge Up! is a program designed to assist incoming Northwood freshmen and new students in making a smooth and successful transition from middle school to high school. The purpose of this enrichment program is to build bridges to achieve Charger success; it will not award credits for specific classes. The enrichment program will be facilitated by NHS faculty and select student leaders. The program will include opportunities for team building, games, arts and crafts, learning kitchen fundamentals, and familiarizing students with Northwood facilities and staff.
The Charge Up! program will run from August 10-August 13th. Each day will run from 8:00 am -12:00 pm. Thursday, the final day of the program, will culminate in a general orientation open to all new students and their parents. Orientation will start at 11:00 am and will be followed by light refreshments at approximately 12:00 pm. Students should wear comfortable clothes and shoes they can be active in and bring a refillable water bottle to use throughout the day.
An enrollment form is now live on the NHS website under the NEWS section. This form needs to be completed and submitted by Monday, August 3rd at 3:00 pm so that we can make sure accommodations are made for the program. The program has a $25 enrollment fee that will be paid through Infinite Campus School Store. Please reach out to Manda Bass if you have questions or concerns about payment.
If you have any questions, please contact Eli Teague, Charge Up! Coordinator through email (eteague@chatham.k12.nc) or Manda Bass, Assistant Principal (mebass@chatham.k12.nc.us).
