Chatham County Schools Announces 2025-2026 Educator of the Year Award Recipients
PITTSBORO, N.C. — Chatham County Schools is proud to announce the recipients of the 2025-2026 districtwide awards recognizing outstanding educators and school leaders. These exceptional individuals have been selected for their unwavering commitment to students, innovation in the classroom, and dedication to advancing excellence in education across our schools.
The district proudly congratulates:
Principal of the Year: Mary Margaret Dark, Chatham Central High School
Beginning Teacher of the Year: Lindley Andrew, George Moses Horton Middle School
Assistant Principal of the Year: Adam Lutterloh, Northwood High School
Instructional Assistant of the Year: Nikki Emerson, Moncure School
Teacher of the Year: Amy Seitz, Pre-K Teacher, Siler City Elementary School
“These outstanding educators and leaders exemplify the heart of our mission in Chatham County Schools — ensuring that every student receives the care, encouragement, and high-quality instruction they need to thrive,” said Superintendent Dr. Anthony Jackson. “We are grateful for their passion, their hard work, and their lasting impact on our students, schools, and community.”
Each honoree was nominated by colleagues and selected through a districtwide review process recognizing excellence, leadership, innovation, and the ability to inspire and support both students and peers.
The district formally celebrated these honorees at tonight’s annual Educator Recognition Reception, where they were recognized by the Chatham County Board of Education, district leadership, and the broader community.
