summer enrollment

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,

This letter is being provided to ensure that all students and families are aware of the expectations and grading procedures related to voluntary summer dual enrollment courses prior to finalizing enrollment for Summer 2026.

In accordance with the updated guidance contained in the 2026-2027 Chatham County Schools Career & College Planning Guide, students voluntarily enrolling in approved summer dual enrollment courses will receive a grade of Pass or Fail only for courses completed during the Summer 2026 session.

The planning guide specifically states:

"During the 2026 Summer Session, students will only receive a Pass or Fail for courses completed. The courses and the respective credit will be added to the high school transcript upon receipt of the college transcript."

Please note the following important information:

• Summer voluntary dual enrollment courses will not receive a numerical grade on the high school transcript.
• Courses successfully completed will be recorded as Pass (P).
• Courses not successfully completed will be recorded as Fail (F).
• Course credit will be added to the student's transcript upon receipt of the official college transcript.
• Students and families are responsible for reviewing these expectations prior to enrolling in summer coursework.

Our goal is to ensure that all students and families have clear and consistent information prior to committing to summer enrollment courses and prior ot the May 15 enrollment deadline.

If you have questions regarding voluntary dual enrollment procedures, please contact your school counselor prior to registration.

Sincerely,

Dr. Anthony D. Jackson

Superintendent
