We had an amazing week this week! We welcomed rising Kindergarten families for an orientation! 


Here are a couple of reminders: 

  • Parents if your students are arriving at the 7:55am bell or after and there are no longer staff outside on morning car line duty please do not just drop your students off.  You need to walk them into the building & sign them in. 
  • ​​This is the last week to claim items from the lost and found. All unclaimed items will be donated to the PTA Thrift Store. Lost and Found Website
  • Science Night
    • We hope that you are planning to join us for Perry Harrison’s Duke Energy Science Night on April 30 from 5:30 – 7:00. You and your entire family will have the chance to do 10 different fun activities that explore science!
    • Sanders Seafood Truck will be here selling plates and Pelican’s Snoballs will be selling shaved ice treats.  You don’t have to cook or clean the kitchen!
    • Please bring a bag with you to hold the take-home items that your child will make by participating in these activities.
    • See you on Tuesday, April 30th at 5:30!

New Announcements 

Teacher Appreciation

Teacher Appreciation Week is coming up May 6-10, and one of the ways you can treat our staff is by stocking the breakroom with snacks and supplies these final weeks of school. They especially need coffee creamer, one box of spoons, plates, and a replenishment of snacks.  Orders from the Amazon wishlist will ship directly to the school.  Thanks for giving staff this small boost in the form of easy access to a quick snack or cup of coffee!  Little things make a big difference!


Spring Book Fair

The Spring Book Fair is coming up May 6-10, and volunteers are needed to help make it a success!  Sign up for a shift or two to assist students in book selection and help Mrs. Spell with checkout.

Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten registration opens online on March 25th. If you have a child or know of a child, who will be 5 on or before August 31 please check out details about the registration process here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1yinMN6y50SGMWd0Jjyb9M4HePViLx8vL/view

Registration for kindergarten will be completed online.  You will be able to register at home or schools will have computers available in the main office if you need support in registering your child.  Beginning Monday, March 25th you can visit your school’s website and click on the desk icon in the top right area of the website to access the new student registration site.  This will direct you to the PowerSchool student registration webpage.  Beginning Monday, March 25th,  at the bottom of this page you will select the link for the 2024-25 School Year PowerSchool Online Registration form to begin registration.

Rising kindergarten families can learn more about kindergarten at our orientation for rising kindergarten families with orientation dates coming soon.  We are so excited to welcome the Class of 2037!

PTA Announcements

There is a PTA Thrift Shop Work Group coming up on April 29th where volunteers can earn money for our school!  4th and 5th grade students can sign up with a parent, and younger students, you can encourage your adult family members to volunteer.  Sign up on the PTA website.


The Chatham Education Foundation is in need of volunteers for their Books on Break events.  Find out more details and sign up here.  


Retesting Dates

We are excited to announce that we will once again offer students the opportunity to retest at Perry Harrison for the End of Grade Tests this school year. EOG retesting for grades 3-8 will occur the week of June 10th-14th. We wanted to let everyone know well ahead of time for summer planning purposes.


Breakfast Reminder 

Students are provided with free breakfast daily! Don’t forget to take advantage of this great opportunity! Find school menus here. Please keep in mind that these menus fluctuate daily based supply challenges, inclement weather, or other related factors. Please remind your students to go straight to breakfast when they arrive at school & to stay in the cafeteria to eat.  If they arrive after 7:50 they may go get breakfast & take it to their classroom to eat. 


Lost & Found

We are accumulating more items in our Lost & Found. Remind your children to check to rack by the cafeteria and parents, please check out our PHE Lost & Found website before the items are donated to the PTA Thrift Store.
