We hope you all had an amazing Spring Break! Please find an attached Spring attendance snapshot. We would like to focus on increasing instructional hours, as we race into the finish line. 

 

Volunteers are needed to help run our Spring Plant Sale fundraiser on Friday, April 12th. Setup begins at 1 pm, and the plant sale runs from 3-6 pm. We need folks to run checkout and help run kids' nature craft activities! Sign up for a time slot that works for you here: Signup Genius.

New Announcements

Spring Pictures 

Strawbridge Studios will be here on Thursday, April 18th to take Spring pictures.  No need to pre-order or send any payments.  Every student will be photographed & will receive a package of pictures.  You then submit payment for the photo sheets you’d like to keep & return the photo sheets you don’t want to the school.  Check out the Perry Harrison website for more info.  



5th Grade Announcement

Parents of 5th grade students, please mark on your calendars that all 5th grade students will be visiting Pollard Middle School on Monday, April 22nd from 12:45 pm - 1:45 pm. If your student plans on attending Horton Middle School, parents are invited to bring their student for a tour on the morning of Thursday, May 2nd. If you have questions about your attendance zone for middle school, please reach out to the front office for clarification.

Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten registration opens online on March 25th. If you have a child or know of a child, who will be 5 on or before August 31 please check out details about the registration process here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1yinMN6y50SGMWd0Jjyb9M4HePViLx8vL/view

Registration for kindergarten will be completed online.  You will be able to register at home or schools will have computers available in the main office if you need support in registering your child.  Beginning Monday, March 25th you can visit your school’s website and click on the desk icon in the top right area of the website to access the new student registration site.  This will direct you to the PowerSchool student registration webpage.  Beginning Monday, March 25th,  at the bottom of this page you will select the link for the 2024-25 School Year PowerSchool Online Registration form to begin registration.

 

Rising kindergarten families can learn more about kindergarten at our orientation for rising kindergarten families with orientation dates coming soon.  We are so excited to welcome the Class of 2037! 

 

Frozen at JMHS Tickets on Sale Now!

It’s almost time to visit Arendelle! The Jordan-Matthews production of Frozen: The Broadway Musical will be:

Sunday, April 21 3pm

All tickets are $8, and can be purchased online at JMArtsTickets.com. Because of strong early ticket sales, we encourage folks who are planning to attend to purchase online. We can’t guarantee there will be tickets available at the door.

 

Chatham Grove Camp Invention

​​We are excited to announce that Camp Invention will return to Chatham Grove this summer! July 15-18 week is currently full and we will run the additional camp August 5-8. This camp will offer different modules than the first week which is awesome! Check out the modules here! This will allow for your campers to come both week’s, if you choose. You can begin registering for the 2nd week of camp at this link! We are in definite need of Leaders in Training (rising 7th-9th), Leadership Interns (rising 10th-college), and parent volunteers ($100 discount with code) for both week’s of camp this summer.  If you have any questions or are interested in volunteering, please feel free to contact me at erichardson@chatham.k12.nc.us.

PTA Announcements

​​Thank you to everyone who helped make our PTA Thrift Shop promotion month in February a success!  We had a big turnout for both work groups with lots of new volunteers, including the entire kindergarten and EC pre-K staff!  Your donations to the supply drive also helped earn an additional 50 volunteer hours for our school!  Second grade had the highest number of donations, with kindergarten close behind in second place, so they will BOTH enjoy a popcorn party sometime next week.  You can support the thrift shop all year round with your donations, so shop from our Amazon wishlist anytime and include your name with your receipt so your grade level can earn the hours!  Spring work group dates are also up on the PTA website, so you can sign up and help fill our work groups for each month to come!  

 

Staff have so appreciated the snacks and coffee families have donated for the breakroom, so let's replenish their supplies for the spring! Order items off the wishlist, and they will be shipped directly to the school.  Thanks for helping treat our staff in this small way!



Afternoon Dismissal

Please make sure you communicate any changes to afternoon transportation with your child’s teacher in the morning either by email or sending a note with your child. If you send an email please copy either Mrs. Johnson or Ms. Washington (rmjohnson@chatham.k12.nc.us or twashington@chatham.k12.nc.us) Also just a reminder, if you need to pick your child up for an afternoon appointment please do so before 2:30. 

 

Breakfast Reminder 

Students are provided with free breakfast daily! Don’t forget to take advantage of this great opportunity! Find school menus here. Please keep in mind that these menus fluctuate daily based supply challenges, inclement weather, or other related factors. Please remind your students to go straight to breakfast when they arrive at school & to stay in the cafeteria to eat.  If they arrive after 7:50 they may go get breakfast & take it to their classroom to eat.
