Good Evening Mariner Families,
We had a great week this week! Wayne from the Fire Department gave us fire safety lessons in 1st-5th grade classrooms! Ms. Hamilton’s fifth-grade class had a room transformation, and Kindergarten had parent volunteers host pumpkin centers for standards-based fun! We learned about the celebration of Dia de Los Muertos through a cultural display by our very own Ana Banda, an avid parent volunteer! Our School Counseling Advisory Committee, comprised of parents, students, and staff, met to make grand plans for our school. We are buzzing with excitement over the real-world, standards-based, and cultural experiences our students are involved in daily at Perry Harrison!

Please be reminded that our school day runs from 7:55-2:55 each day. It is vital that students be at school on time, and leave at dismissal. We understand that sometimes appointments are unavoidable; however, please ensure that you minimize time that school is missed when possible. Whenever a student is called out of class, it interrupts their instruction and others.
IN THE ZONE!
This year we are ALL learning about the Zones of Regulation. Teachers and staff will receive a short weekly lesson that they can share with their students each week during Morning Meetings. This week we introduced the Zones through a video. Feel free to check it out and ask your student about their activity in class - "I am in the _______zone when I am feeling ________."

PTA Staff Appreciation Committee Updates
Help us give teachers time on Fridays to enjoy a peaceful lunch away from the cafeteria! Volunteers are needed from 10:30-12:15 to supervise the cafeteria. A PHS staff person will be present to assist volunteers. You will walk around and ensure that the lunchroom expectations are being followed (click here for that document), open food packages as needed, and get to know the kids of PHS! Note that you must be an approved volunteer with Chatham County Schools to participate (click here to complete your CCS volunteer application). Email Michele Cosgrove at email@example.com with any questions. Thanks for your support of our teachers!
Please check your cafeteria balances; we have several outstanding balances. You can set up automatic payments through the school lunch K12 payment system.
School Cash Online
Just in, PHS is up from 27.35% to 50.61% for School Cash Online! The top 5 schools are at least 72% registered. A little friendly competition never hurt anyone! Let’s beat that 72%, Perry Harrison families! If you need assistance, visit us in the front office. We are happy to help!
Spelling Bee- Coming Soon!
The PHE spelling bee will be held on December 7th and 8th. For more information, and to enroll your student, please follow the link below.
PowerSchool Data Review notifications have been sent to all families via email. Please complete by November 21st.
