Good Evening Mariner Families,

We had a great week this week! We had a scavenger hunt in the library to conclude our One School, One Book initiative! 3rd Grade had a read-aloud visit from Northwood High School DECA students. We all participated in a schoolwide morning meeting where we learned about Hispanic Heritage and Culture from a Perry Harrison Family Member. We are so grateful for all the amazing things happening at Perry Harrison!

Student Services Team Updates

Thanksgiving Support

A local group will be donating several Thanksgiving boxes to our school to support families who might need a bit of extra support this holiday season. Each box will include a gift card to Food Lion to purchase a ham or turkey, instant potatoes, stuffing mix, gravy packets, canned green beans, cranberry sauce, and corn, boxed mac and cheese, cornbread mix, and cake or brownie mix. If your family would benefit from this support, please reach out to our school social worker, Hilary Cissokho, to sign up. There will be a limited number of boxes available, so please reach out asap if your family is in need of this support.

Christmas Support

Applications are being accepted for The Salvation Army Chatham County Angel Tree, a needs-based Christmas gift program for Chatham County families with children aged 12 and under. All applications are online. If your family would benefit from this support, please visit saangeltree.org to start your application. Applications are on a first come, first served basis and there is limited funding for the program, so please apply right away. If you need assistance with the application process, or if your family is not able to connect with this program but is in need of holiday support, please reach out to our school social worker, Hilary Cissokho, for support.

Breakfast Car Riders

If your student is a car rider and you would like them to eat breakfast, please try to have them at school by 7:50 am. This will help ensure they have time to eat breakfast before 8:00 instruction begins.

Early Check-out

Just a reminder the cut off for early check-outs is 2:30 pm.  Please arrive prior to 2:30 if you need to sign your student out early for appointments, etc.  Please do not call the office & ask for your student to be called out of class before you arrive.

We are excited to welcome parent volunteers into our cafeteria during lunchtime beginning October 26th. Thank you for your patience as we established cafeteria norms and procedures. All cafeteria volunteers must be an approved volunteer with Chatham County Schools. Here is a reminder about our nutrition policy

Remember, all students get free breakfast this year! Make sure you take advantage of this excellent opportunity!

Staff Wish List

Another great way to treat our staff year-round is to stock the breakroom with needed supplies.  You can purchase items off the wishlist to be shipped directly to the school.  Your donations are appreciated!

Field Trips/Cafeteria

Please register for School Cash if you haven't done so- This will be used for field trips, outstanding lunch balances, and student fees.

Volunteer Opportunities

Parents and guardians, please make sure that you fill out a volunteer form. They must be completed each school year. Please find the link to the volunteer application in your email or on the Perry Harrison website. We look forward to partnering with parents and guardians again in various volunteer capacities as we have in the past.

You can find information and opportunities between weekly parent calls, on our Perry Harrison website, PTA Facebook page, and Twitter Page.

Have an amazing weekend!
