STEM Updates
Our yearly STEM Fair will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2023.  Judging will take place that morning, with family viewing in the evening from 5:30 - 7:00.  All students at PHE will participate by completing a project in their classrooms.  If you have a student who would like to enter his/her own individual or small group STEM project (no more than 3 students), please contact Dana Griffin via email,  dgriffin@chatham.k12.nc.us, for guidelines.

We are excited to welcome parent volunteers into our cafeteria during lunchtime beginning October 26th. Thank you for your patience as we established cafeteria norms and procedures. All cafeteria volunteers must be an approved volunteer with Chatham County Schools. Here is a reminder about our nutrition policy.

District News
Make every morning this school year a Good Morning with Free School Breakfast. All Chatham County Schools students will be offered free breakfast daily. High School students will be offered a Second Chance Breakfast after the first period. Follow us on social media for our daily menu and School Nutrition Updates on Facebook ChathamCoNutrition & Instagram @ccsnutrition.

PTA News
Make sure you check out the latest SOS Update email that came out today at 4:00 p.m.

To thank staff for their support of the SOS fundraiser, the PTA is treating them to drinks from the Three Waters coffee truck next Thursday morning, October 12th, and parents are invited to stop in before or after morning carline for a hot drink or pastry.  We need at least 30 parents to buy a coffee to help cover the cost of the staff drinks, so spread the word! Bring cash if you can in case the signal for the card reader is poor.

Make plans to enjoy an afternoon of fun with fellow PHS families at the Fall Festival on Saturday, October 21 from 3-6pm behind the school. There will be face painting, an inflatable slide, crafts, giant bubbles, Mrs. Bowling’s famous obstacle course and more! Many activities are free, and all Perry Harrison students will receive 6 free tickets to use for some food items and activities. An additional ticket can be earned by bringing a non-perishable food donation for our Fuel Up program (suggested items here: http://fuelupkids.ch2v.com/content.asp?PageID=8 ). Look for more details on the flyer in your take home folders.

Staff Wish List
Another great way to treat our staff year-round is to stock the breakroom with needed supplies.  You can purchase items off the wishlist to be shipped directly to the school.  Your donations are appreciated!

Field Trips/Cafeteria
Please register for School Cash if you haven't done so- This will be used for field trips, outstanding lunch balances, and student fees.

Volunteer Opportunities
Parents and guardians, please make sure that you fill out a volunteer form. They must be completed each school year. Please find the link to the volunteer application in your email or on the Perry Harrison website. We look forward to partnering with parents and guardians again in various volunteer capacities as we have in the past.

You can find information and opportunities between weekly parent calls, on our Perry Harrison website, PTA Facebook page, and Twitter Page.

Have an amazing weekend!
