Parent/Guardian Reminders

We made it through our first two weeks of school! Please plan to have your children walk to class independently unless they are in Pre-K. If they are having a hard morning, a staff member will be happy to walk and check in with them. If your child is in Pre-K, they should be dropped off at the Pre-K classrooms in the bus lot. Thank you for pulling forward when buckling students in at car line, this has been a great help!

STEM Drive

-Teacher will be sending information in newsletters regarding our STEM drive, and you can find a flyer on our website, and parent Smore via Perry Harrison's social media sites.

Library News

There are some exciting things happening in the library! This week students checked out books for the first time this year! On Monday the library will start being open for students to exchange books every day, not just on library class day! On Tuesday, we will start offering the Take a Book Tuesday (TBT) cart! This cart will be outside the library every Tuesday for students to take a gently used book home to add to their personal library. Students can choose one book each week, for a total of 35 books this year!  You can check to see which books are from this cart by looking in the front cover for the TBT message.

Field Trips/Cafeteria

Please register for School Cash if you haven't done so- This will be used for field trips, outstanding lunch balances, and student fees.

Fall Thrift Shop Work Group dates are set, and we'd love your help earning money for our school by signing up for a volunteer shift at the Cole Park PTA Thrift Shop off 15-501!  There is one weeknight evening and one Sunday afternoon shift each month, and the time passes quickly at each two-hour session, straightening the store and hanging clothing.  Volunteers earn 50% off purchases when you work, and students ages 10 and up can volunteer with a parent.  The next upcoming Perry Harrison sessions are September 17th from 1-3 and September 18th from 6:30-8:30, and you can sign up for these sessions or the other Fall dates on the PTA website.

District Communication

Code of Civility

Please find a link to the Code of Civility from our district in your parent email. Once you have reviewed it, please complete the parent acknowledgment handed out at Meet the Teacher and return it in your child’s folder.

Volunteer Opportunities

Parents and guardians, please make sure that you fill out a volunteer form. They must be completed each school year. Please find the link to the volunteer application in your email or on the Perry Harrison website. We look forward to partnering with parents and guardians again in various volunteer capacities as we have in the past.

You can find information and opportunities between weekly parent calls, on our Perry Harrison website, PTA Facebook page, and Twitter Page.

Have an amazing weekend!
