Car Rider Line Reminders

What a fantastic back-to-school week we have had in our early morning car line!  Students are demonstrating expectations and quickly entering the building!  For those of you that are new to PHE or to those who just need a reminder, our AM car arrival expectations are as follows:

When exiting the vehicle-

*Please have students exit the car on the right side of the car if possible

*Please have all backpacks, lunchboxes, etc. ready so that you are able to exit the car quickly and safely once the door is opened.

*If you are driving, please remain in your car and allow school personnel to help your child get out of the vehicle if assistance is needed.

*If you need to assist your child in any way, please pull over to one of the parking spaces in order to allow the line to continue moving forward.

*If you are walking your child into the building, please use the parking spaces in the upper lot.

Nutrition Policy

Please find our Perry Harrison nutritional policy in your email and our Weekly Parent Smore newsletter.

Fall Thrift Shop Work Group dates are set, and we'd love your help earning money for our school by signing up for a volunteer shift at the Cole Park PTA Thrift Shop off 15-501!  There is one weeknight evening and one Sunday afternoon shift each month, and the time passes quickly at each two-hour session, straightening the store and hanging clothing.  Volunteers earn 50% off purchases when you work, and students ages 10 and up can volunteer with a parent.  The next upcoming Perry Harrison sessions are September 17th from 1-3 and September 18th from 6:30-8:30, and you can sign up for these sessions or the other Fall dates on the PTA website.

District Communication

Code of Civility

Please find a link to the Code of Civility from our district in your parent email. Once you have reviewed it, please complete the parent acknowledgment handed out at Meet the Teacher and return it in your child’s folder.

Transportation Updates

Please see this note from transportation: There is a five (5) day minimum turn-around period for bus transportation requests made during the regular school year. Parents/guardians requesting bus transportation should expect a five (5) day minimum turn-around to allow the Transportation Department to receive and process the request. Parents/guardians must provide transportation for their child(ren) to and from school until bus transportation arrangements can be determined.

Here Comes The Bus (HCTB) is not working at this time.  We have been working with the software provider, Cal/Amp (formerly Synovia), for HCTB.  A representative from Cal/Amp is validating the data before they turn on the HCTB license.  Hopefully, this will be resolved soon.

Volunteer Opportunities

Parents and guardians, please make sure that you fill out a volunteer form. They must be completed each school year. Please find the link to the volunteer application in your email or on the Perry Harrison website. We look forward to partnering with parents and guardians again in various volunteer capacities as we have in the past.

You can find information and opportunities between weekly parent calls, on our Perry Harrison website, PTA Facebook page, and Twitter Page.

Have a wonderful Labor Day Weekend!
