Chatham County Schools and Silk Hope School is excited to announce our partnership with the Carolina Hurricanes.

The program runs from Monday, September 30, 2019 through Friday, November 22, 2019. Students are encouraged to read (or be read to) for 800  minutes during this time which is roughly 20 minutes, five nights a week. Students who meet their 800 minute reading goal will be rewarded with 2 complimentary tickets to see a Carolina Hurricanes game in the coming year.

As further incentive to read beyond this goal, the Chatham County School with the highest average minutes read per student will be eligible for a special “Cool School Field Trip” to visit the PNC Arena for a special celebration at the conclusion of the READvolution program.

Students can track their reading using an online system.  Students must login using their CCS student email and password. Information pertaining to logging in was sent home with students.

For families without Internet access at home, time will be afforded in school for students to log their reading time.  Students can ask their homeroom teacher for a tracking form so that minutes read at home can be added if they don’t have internet access at home.

You can login to enter book titles and amount of time reading as well as track the progress of our school using the online scoreboard which can be found at:

We are looking forward to seeing students commit to reaching the 800 minute reading goal! Thank you for your participation.
