All As: Academic Excellence Award
Beginning with the 1986-87 school year, Superintendent Perry Harrison wanted to recognize high school students who excelled in academics. This resulted in the Academic Excellence Award. Ninth, tenth, eleventh, and twelfth graders may be recognized for academic excellence. The recognition will be made by the presentation of plaques at the annual awards day in late spring at each high school. Recipients will earn the academic excellence plaque by meeting the following requirements:
Grade Requirement
9, 10, 11, 12 All A's on credit courses only through the fifth grading period.
The determination of the recipients will be as follows:
First Semester
1st six weeks A
2nd six weeks A
3rd six weeks A
Final Exam A
Second Semester
4th six weeks A
5th six weeks A
Seniors:
Seniors will be eligible for an additional award which will be in the form of a trophy. In order to be a recipient of the senior academic excellence trophy, the student must have received all A's on all credit courses, including the 6th six weeks and final exam of second semester, for four years through the fifth grading period of the senior year.
The Academic Excellence Awards was approved by Chatham County Board of Education.
