2019 Global Extravaganza

Mark Your Calendars, February 28, 6:00-7:30 p.m.

The 2019 Pollard Global Extravaganza is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 28 - 6:00-7:30 p.m.  We are excited about our annual "celebration of diversity."  Pollard is a great school because of each unique person that is a part of the Pollard family.

Mark your calendars and plan to join us for this exciting event.  There will be student work on display, cultural displays, ethnic desserts to sample, and an amazing performance by Diali Cissokho (a renowned kora player and percussionist from the Casamance region of Senegal).

As we are gearing up for the event, we need some help!  One component of the event is an "ethnic dessert sampling."  If you are able to provide a store/restaurant prepared ethnic dessert (we cannot accept home-made items), please contact Ms. Quinn (mquinn@chatham.k12.nc.us) or Ms. Smith (smithdarlene@chatham.k12.nc.us)

We also need volunteers to reach out to local restaurants for donations (we are unable to provide a tax ID # this year - we hope this will not keep community partners from helping out).  If you are interested in coordinating the effort to reach out to local restaurants, please contact Ms. Fady (sfadypta@gmail.com) with Pollard’s PTSA. We have a list of restaurants/items donated from last year that can used.

Another component of the event is our “culture fair.”  If you have a cultural connection you would like to celebrate, sign up for a booth/table to display information, artifacts, etc. (contact Mr. Charles, mcharles@chatham.k12.nc.us or Ms. Barnett-Lawrence, jbarnettlawrence@chatham.k12.nc.us.
