Important Info About School Meals in 2022-23

During the pandemic Chatham County Schools (CCS) Nutrition Service was able to provide school meals at no cost to all enrolled students. Unfortunately the USDA is discontinuing the free meals on June 30, 2022. Starting on July 1, 2022 CCS will revert to the  School Breakfast and National School Lunch Programs.

Beginning July 1, 2022 School Nutrition Services will provide reduced priced and free meals to eligible students.  If your child plans to attend our Summer School programming we are requesting families to submit an application beginning July 1, 2022. This will cover your child for the summer and 2022-2023 school year.

If your family chooses to apply, our online application (www.lunchapplication.com) will be available July 1 and paper applications will be available at back to school events for the 2022-2023 school year. The forms should be returned, completed, to any school cafeteria or school office.  You will be notified by mail of your child's status. Until notification is received parents will need to provide meals or money for meals. Meals will be provided at no cost through June 30, 2022
