PITTSBORO — The Chatham County Board of Education on June 30, 2022, approved Caroline Linker as principal of Silk Hope School.

Linker joins Chatham County Schools after most recently serving as principal at W.G. Pearson STEAM Elementary School in Durham. She has been an educator since 2012, starting her career as a math teacher through Teach For America. Linker went on to become a school director with Northampton County Public Schools, an assistant principal at Bunn High School and principal at Youngsville Elementary.

Linker received a fully funded fellowship to the Northeast Leadership Academy, one of the top principal preparation programs in the nation. In addition, she successfully completed Harvard University’s “Leading Change,” a course in school management and leadership.

Earning her bachelor’s degree from N.C. State University in communication and organization communication - public relations, Linker went on to earn certification in secondary mathematics for grades six through 9 from East Carolina University, a master’s degree in school administration from N.C. State and currently is pursuing a doctoral degree there in education administration and supervision.

“I am so excited about this opportunity. I look forward to getting to know my Silk Hope students, and to working in partnership with our families and community,” Linker said. “Chatham County Schools is an excellent school district, and I am delighted to be a part of that excellence moving forward.”

Chatham County Schools Superintendent Dr. Anthony Jackson said Linker’s experience will be an asset for the school district. 

“Ms. Linker’s dedication to education and how accomplished she is in this field are a valuable addition to Chatham County Schools,” Jackson said. “She will serve the Silk Hope community well.”

Linker succeeds Angie Brady-Andrew, who is retiring as principal.
