PITTSBORO — The Chatham County Board of Education has appointed Dr. Randy Bridges as interim superintendent of Chatham County Schools (CCS). The board selected Bridges for his extensive experience in public education and his outstanding record as a successful superintendent.
“Dr. Bridges will bring a wealth of experience and expertise to our school district,” board chairman Gary L. Leonard said. “Our board is confident that he will lead CCS well during this time of transition, and we look forward to continuing to support our incredible students, staff and community with Dr. Bridges at the helm.”
Bridges takes office Jan. 11, 2021, and will serve until the board selects a permanent superintendent.
“The core business of any successful educational institution is teaching and learning,” Bridges said. “While we are in unsettling times, we must continue providing a quality education for our children. I look forward to joining Chatham County Schools and continuing its mission of Collectively Creating Success for all students.”
