Poston named Siler City Elementary interim principal

PITTSBORO — The Chatham County Board of Education during its Dec. 9, 2019, meeting named Tania Poston as the interim principalTania Poston  of Siler City Elementary School following the board's approval of Dr. Larry Savage as the principal of Chatham Grove Elementary School, which opens in the fall of 2020. Poston will begin her new role when Savage starts his new assignment Jan. 6, 2020. 

“I am so excited to continue the great work that the school community, our teachers, staff and students do each and every day at Siler City Elementary. We will remain committed to ensuring that SCE is an environment where all kids grow and flourish,” Poston said.

Poston is the assistant principal at Siler City Elementary and will bring 22 years of experience as an educator to her role as interim principal. She has worked at several campuses in Chatham County Schools (CCS), serving as an elementary teacher, a curriculum coach and an assistant principal.

“Mrs. Poston is no stranger to Siler City Elementary. Her experience and commitment to SCE will serve our school community well,” CCS Superintendent Dr. Derrick D. Jordan said.
