District seeking proposals for transportation services

PITTSBORO — Chatham County Schools (CCS) has invited companies to submit proposals to provide transportation for its exceptional students and others enrolled in the district. CCS seeks up to two contractors to service students. One contractor would provide transportation for students who live in the combined attendance districts for both Chatham Central and Jordan‐Matthews high schools. The other contractor would provide transportation services for students who live in the attendance district for Northwood High School. Companies may bid on either one or both districts with the understanding that they may be awarded either one or both contracts.

The service specifications required by the district are in the bid packet linked here. A form for the bid proposal, a list of schools and accompanying addresses, a map of attendance districts and a copy of the 2019‐20 academic calendar are included in the packet.

Company’s must submit their work history and three references from entities using their services. The district will check those references before contracts are awarded. Proposals must be in by 4 p.m. July 11, 2019. Sealed envelopes should be marked “Contracted Transportation Proposal, Attn: Chris D. Blice” and mailed to 369 West St., Pittsboro, NC 27312.

Faxed proposals will not be accepted.

CCS reserves the right to reject or accept any or all proposals based on the best interest of the district, which also reserves the right to reissue the request for proposals.
