Chatham County Schools acquiring more talent
PITTSBORO — Chatham County Schools (CCS) is assembling talent to complete its team for the upcoming school year. The district’s May 6 career fair at the Chatham County Agriculture & Conference Center will include one-on-one interviews with principals hiring for classroom positions. The 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. event also will offer opportunities to those seeking employment in skilled trades, transportation and school nutrition.
CCS has a system in place to make sure teachers just beginning their careers in education receive the support necessary to thrive in their classrooms. Experienced CCS teachers seeking National Board Certification receive support toward that end. The district has a tuition-reimbursement program for both lateral-entry teachers and teachers employed with the school system at least two years.
The district is centrally located to a number of major universities. Myriad entertainment opportunities and dining options are less than an hour away from this growing school system.
