On May 1, 2015, Virginia Cross Elementary, Siler City Elementary, Chatham Middle and Silk Hope partnered with the YMCA in a community event titled “Building Healthy Students Together”.  This event took place at Bray Park in Siler City, and featured games, community booths, inflatables, obstacle courses, and food provided for purchase by Freddy’s Catering. We want to thank all our the volunteers that made this event possible, and extend our appreciation to the following organizations that provided an informational booth: Chatham Soccer League, Pittsboro and Siler City Police Departments, Chatham County Sheriffs Office, Siler City Fire Department, Chatham Library Bookmobile, Child Care Networks, Chatham County Health Department, Siler City Parks and Recreation, Walgreens, Hispanic Liaison, CCCC, Department of Social Services, FVRC, Habitat for Humanity, and First Tee Golf Clinic.  Promoting a healthy lifestyle as well as promoting all of our schools to the students and families in Siler City was a huge success and we look forward to building this event to include the high schools next year.
