PITTSBORO — The Chatham County Board of Education Board during its Jan. 11 meeting voted to begin in-person instruction under Plan B for high school students Feb 1. However, students start the second semester Jan. 21 with at-home learning under Plan C.
Students enrolled in the Chatham County Schools Virtual Academy begin virtual classes either Jan. 19 or Jan. 21, depending on the course providers. The final date to enroll in the virtual academy is Feb. 3.
In middle school sports, sessions for skill development are underway while video systems are installed in the gyms. Because of COVID-19 protocols, the board agreed to not allow spectators to attend middle school sporting events, but the video systems will allow fans to view indoor games live online. Middle school games begin Feb. 15.
