Chatham County approves land contract for new school

Chatham County Schools is positioned to buy 25 acres of land at the corner of Andrews Store and Parker Herndon roads, where it would build a new elementary school if the property is suitable for construction. The move is the result of the Chatham County Board of Commissioners on April 17, 2017, approving contract terms presented by the Chatham County Board of Education. The land would cost the district $750,000, plus closing costs.
