Board approves contract for land purchase
The Board of Education approved a contract that would allow the district to purchase 25 acres from Newland Communities in order to build a new elementary school. The land is at the corner of Andrews Store and Parker Herndon roads. If the Chatham County Board of Commissioners approves the $750,000 purchase price, then the district would move toward both buying the land and designing the new school.
School board members selected the site on Sept. 12, 2016.
