Learn about how we are a GREEN school!

LEED Gold Certification

LEED Gold Certification Seal Margaret B. Pollard Middle School is the first middle school in North Carolina to be awarded LEED Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. "LEED" stands for  Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design.

“LEED Gold certification for Margaret B. Pollard Middle School means more than receiving recognition for constructing a sustainable building,” said Robbie Ferris, president and CEO of SfL+a Architects. “It also means that students and teachers will reap the benefits of an educational facility that can serve as a learning tool that emphasizes the value of protecting our environment through innovative measures.”
