• Envirothon

    Envirothon is an extra-curricular, competition based, environmental education club. Envirothon Club meets incorporate guest speakers, field trips, fun activities, and learning about forestry, aquatics, soils, wildlife, and current environmental issues.

    Envirothon will meet on Wednesday afternoons from 3:15-4:15. The first meeting will be September 20th. Interest forms can be obtained from Mrs. Norwood in 6th grade, Mr. Tomlin in 7th grade, or Ms. Streets in 8th grade. Come to the first meeting to check it out!

     

    Fellowship of Christian Athletes

    The Fellowship of Christian Athletes will have its first meeting Friday, September 8 in Ms. Mitchell’s room until 4 pm. It will be a short interest meeting, and students who want to be leaders can sign up then.

    The  Pollard Post Newspaper

    The Pollard Post newspaper staff applications are available in the front office and Ms. Rigsbee’s room for those students who are interested. This year, the newspaper staff will meet every Friday during Discovery.  If you are a current staff member, email Mrs. Rigsbee to secure your position this year.  Applications are due Monday, September 11.

    Pollard Robotics Club

    In the Pollard Robotics Club, we build and program robots using LEGO Mindstorm system. You will have specific tasks that you must build and program your robot to perform, and this year, we will be competing in the first Lego League, so come ready to work!

    The Pollard Robotics Club will meet in Mr. Hall’s room every Friday afternoon, starting September 7 at 3:15-5:00

     

    Yearbook

    The Yearbook Club will have its first meeting Monday, September 11 in the media center from 3:15-4:30 pm.  Students interested in being part of the yearbook staff should attend.  Please make sure you have a ride home promptly at 4:30.

    National Junior Honor Society

    National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is a national student organization emphasizing academic and character excellence.  Margaret B. Pollard has been a chapter member since 2010.  Advisors are Michael Triplett, Sheri Little, and Melody Hine.  For a schedule of meetings and events, students can connect with the NJHS Canvas Page.  General meetings for all members will be every other month last Monday of the month that students are in school.
