Student Athletes of the Week---#SAOTW for October (picture would not upload properly)Erik Lujan--Week of Oct. 1 Erik is a leader on the soccer team in many ways. He leads not only through his words but his actions. In a crucial game conference game to take the lead in overtime, Erik shook off two defenders to cut across our opponents defense and score the winning goal to put us in first place. Erik has grit on the field and off.Jacorey Coats--Week of Oct. 8 Jacorey is a quiet person that leads by example. He is at practice on time and gives everything he has to become a better runner.Kayli McIntosh--Week of Oct. 8 Kayli is a co-captain and exhibits great time-management skills. She is in the play and makes it to practice everyday and works hard to be our #2 runner.Jorge Hernandez--Week of Oct. 22 Jorge is a determined competitor. He never gives up. He scored the winning goal in the last game v. Randleman to make the Jets conference champions.Girls basketball tryouts Wed-Fri of this week from 3:30pm-6:30pm. Boys basketball tryouts Wednesday Oct. 31 from 6pm-8pm.
Student Athletes of the Week---#SAOTW for the month of September
Matthew Oldham (Cross Country) Matthew is one of the hardest working runners on the team. He loves helping other people and has a very focused determination for his future.
Hadasa Rivera (Cross Country) This young lady is like having a coach on the course. She works hard and helps anyone and everyone, and has a winning attitude. Hadasa is smart in the classroom and on the trail.
Enavyia Gould (Volleyball) Navi had an exceptional game against Providence Grove. Although we were down by 19 points at one point in the game. Navi continued to play hard and keep her teammates going. In one set Navi recorded 4 aces, 3 blocks, and 4 Kills.
Jamonie Williams (Football) Jamonie is a very respectful, mannerly young man. Works hard and leads by example. Rushed for 145 yds in 17 carries and scored 5 TD’s vs Chatham Central on 9/7/18
Jocelyn Mitchell (Girls Tennis) Jocelyn is THE player that every coach would want on their team. She is dedicated to the sport, and determined to do her best, always. She takes practice and game days seriously, while at the same time, truly enjoying playing tennis. Jocelyn sets the tone for the team with her attitude, skills, and love for the game. She is a role model to her younger teammates and helps offer assistance whenever she sees the opportunity.
Lindley Andrew (Girls Tennis) Lindley has consistently improved all year, and always has a smile on her face. Her sportsmanship skills are out of this world, making her an awesome teammate, but also a good opponent. She constantly receives compliments from other teams' players, coaches, and even parents on how friendly, respectful, and compassionate she is. Although she is friendly to play with, she never lets that get in the way of playing her best, and defeating the opponent. Though winning isn't everything, Lindley is undefeated at her #6 position, and continues to be an asset to our team.
Avery Headen (Girls Tennis) Avery is a joy to be around on and off the court. She loves the game of tennis, and has a healthy competitive spirit that helps her do her best and leave it all on the court. Her effort is always 100%, and she has a stellar attitude. She is always ready to improve, whether that be correcting herself, or asking for guidance on what she can do to become better. Avery’s willpower, driven personality, and killer tennis skills, are exciting to watch.
