Science Olympiad Club allows students to explore science outside the classroom while working towards an end-of-year regional team competition. Students will compete in events covering various scientific disciplines, including earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering. Please listen for morning announcements about start date and more information from Mr. Walgate. The Young Author Competition is a creative fiction and nonfiction writing outlet for our students. Many students submit their written work—from short stories and graphic novels to poetry and novella-length stories—in the hopes of snagging one of Horton's four slots in the countywide competition. Winners from each school are honored at a ceremony in April. Please see Ms. Shortley for more details.
