The following dashboard indicates the schools that have clusters as well as the number of current positive cases that the school district has been made aware of at each school each week. Red equals a cluster. Green indicates no cluster. A cluster is defined as 5 or more cases that are linked within a school. On occasion, Chatham County Schools' number of cases will differ from the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services weekly report of clusters in schools. CCS reports a cluster as soon as the district has knowledge of it, and our dashboard will reflect the cluster the week it is reported to the school system. Clusters identified by the local public health department and reported to the state Department of Health and Human Services have a different verification process and will remain on DHHS’ weekly report of clusters in schools for 28 days beyond the last person testing positive or showing symptoms.
The second page of this dashboard will give additional information each week, such as total student and staff population and number of active positive COVID-19 cases this week. To ensure our community is provided with the most recent and accurate information, weekly status reports will be published by the close of business each Friday. Each report will include the total number of new school-impacted COVID-19 cases. Our district continues to work diligently to ensure proper guidelines are followed according to North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, as we continue navigating COVID-19.
