Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Kevin McDaniel

I was born and raised in Salem, Virginia where I graduated from Salem High School. There I played lacrosse and was a student athletic trainer for the varsity football and softball teams.

After graduation, I attended Radford University where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Business and Marketing with a minor in Advertising.

Later I received my teaching certificate at Longwood College, with education, computer science, and math courses/requirements.  I began teaching high school math in 2005 in Halifax County, Virginia.  After two years of teaching experience in Virginia paired with a desire to move to NC, I joined the amazing Chatham County school system!

I was hired in '07 and spent the next 10 years at Northwood, where I taught math as well as created/established the successful varsity lacrosse program. I then transferred to Chatham Central and taught math for 4 years along with being involved and trained with their Link Crew.

My wife, daughter, and I are fortunate to own a 16-acre piece of property with 2 horses (at the moment), 3 cats, and a dog.  My wife rides and competes at various events; dressage, show jumping, and cross country. Her passion and work-ethic in training horses is stunning.  Our young daughter loves to be on the farm and loves her animals.   When I’m not supporting my wife, playing with my daughter, cooking for my family, or working on the farm, we try to get off the property.  We love to go to the mountains and the beach when there's time.  We attend as many live music events as possible.
