During the school year, we encourage our students to enroll at Jordan Matthews High School. We can provide bus transportation to JM at 3:00 PM. There is no school transportation provided for pick up after class sessions. Finished Drivers Ed?
What will you need?
- Driver Education Certificate: This certificate states that you have completed 30 hours of classroom, six hours of drug and alcohol prevention, and six hours of BTW (Behind the Wheel) training.
- Driver Eligibility Certificate: You will need your Driver Education Certificate to obtain your Driver Eligibility Certificate from CSSE. A parent will need to come to the school and sign for the certificate.
- Driver Eligibility Certificate: As of August 1, 1998, persons less than 18 years of age applying for a permit or license must have this certificate. This certificate states that the student is passing at least five of six courses in a regular schedule, or three of four courses in a block schedule, and is currently enrolled in school. The certificate is valid for 30 days, and then must be renewed if you do not obtain a learner’s permit within that time.
What do I need when I go to the NC DMV office?:
- Driving Eligibility Certificate
- Driver's Education Certificate from an approved driver education course.
- One document verifying identity and date of birth
- A Social Security card or one document proving they have a Social Security number
- One document proving North Carolina residency
In addition to successfully completing a North Carolina-approved driver education course:
- Teen drivers may only operate a motor vehicle while being supervised by: A parent or legal guardian, a grandparent or an adult who has been approved by a parent or legal guardian
- The supervisor must be: A licensed driver, licensed for five years, and seated next to driver when supervising
